Homalko First Nation village of  Church House at the entrance to Bute Inlet in 1870 (BC Archives A-03998) and in June, 2014 (CW Collection 2014-07-02-2152). The Canadian Pacific Railway survey evaluated this inlet as a route for the transcontinental railway.
