Portland Oregon

“City of Portland, Oregon” in 1867 by Carleton Watkins (Oregon Historical Society- Mammoth 402) and Portland and Mt. Hood from the sharp bend along Southwest Upper Hall Street in 2016 (CW-2016-04-17-0829). This location is close to the original photo-point. It would be much better to get a retake from the deck of  one of  beautiful homes along this street. A dense population of native peoples occupied this resource-rich area at the confluence of the Columbia and Willamette rivers prior to high mortality from diseases introduced by European sailors, fur traders, and settlers.1
