Rocher De Boule from Bulkley River

Mt. Rocher de Boule and Bulkley River near Hazelton in the 1890s (Photographer undetermined, BC Archives D-07516), in 1967 (BC Government Photograph, BC Archives I-21830), and in 2008 (CW-2008A-212). In the 1890s, the Gitxsan village of Gitanmaax occupied the river bank here. Since that time, the Bulkley River has changed course about 50m to the northwest, and cottonwoods and willow are growing in the once frequently flooded backwater.
