The Burn Box: Fire Behaviour and Risk

The occurrence of wildland fire is regulated by four groups of input variables:
-terrain
-fuel
-weather
-human use and governance influences on ignition and suppression

Today, these groups of variables are often integrated into complex computer models to evaluate both in long-term planning and short-term fire management options.
