The Parks Canada replica of the old dock is well-done, but extends out into the lake less far than the original. Apparently we missed seeing another one of those pesky “closed to public” signs. Walter was looking at the ducks, and as usual, I was preoccupied with lining up the old photograph.
The Indigenous salmon fishery at the end of the lake was highly important to provisioning the fort.
